Tips On Budget Travelling To Spain
10 Tips on how to travel on a limited budget :
Are you a frequent traveller or is it your first time abroad on your own or just travelling away with family for a short holiday.
Travelling can be very costly and only a few can afford it especially during this credit crunch time. If you want to travel but you only have limited budget here are some tips to ways to travel cheap and enjoy your holiday.
1. Be more flexible. Usually the lowest fares are for midweek travel, generally Mondays through Thursdays.
2. When flying around the time of a major holiday or children’s holiday, be aware that travelling on the holiday itself is less expensive than travelling a day or two before or after it.
3. Check with others on when you want to book. Cheap airfare tickets usually requires an advance purchase of at least seven, 14, or 21 days, but tracking prices even further in advance is smarter. International air tickets should be purchased a minimum of 30 days in advance.
4. Go off peak. Visiting during the off-peak season will yield cheaper fares. Examples include Europe in the winter and the Caribbean in the fall.
5. You need to do a little research. Search online for cheap airfare at your chosen location but choose flexible date of departure and return flights. Insisting on flying with specific date of departure and return flights will cost you
6. Book return tickets rather than single or one –way. Almost the same taxes apply in both one-way and round trip flights, and thus one-way flights usually become more costly as compared to one-way flights. Also, promotional rates apply to round trip flights and thus, it is always possible to find cheap airfare for round trip flights.
7. Consider when flying internationally - some smaller airlines offer many unique options like flying to a smaller city in the same country. You can then book a cheaper in country flight sometimes. Another tip is to consider breaking up your trip into shorter flights - i.e. book one flight to Europe or the Middle East and then to Asia vs. flying directly to Asia with a stopover.
8. Find the fare on a site and book directly with the airlines’ website-may save you some in fees. You will be surprised.
9. An international travel agent is remarkably good at getting great deals especially to more remote areas like special deals to Asia. What you will find is that they have access to flexibility with their negotiating power and skills in adjustable scheduling, fees etc.
10. Purchase tickets through consolidators, who buy blocks of tickets and sell them at a discount to help an airline fill up all available seats. Check the travel section of the newspaper under ‘Ticket Consolidators.’
