Everywhere you look the views are magnificent, from many holes you can see the blue of the mediterranean and there is always the backdrop of the dramatic mountains. Gary Player has used these natural resources brilliantly to create one of the best designed courses on the Costa del Sol.
The clubhouse sits in the heart of the course, looking onto the 18th green and was created out of a number of country “casitas” giving it an intimate and friendly ambience helped by the attentive service of the “camareros”.
5. La Quinta :
La Quinta demands stamina and accuracy from its elevated tees. The Golf School is on hand for those wishing to improve.
A challenging course at the top of Marbella’s golf valley inaugurated in 1989. Three nine-hole loops, played in different combinations, wind through a large real estate development. A technical course that reflect the designer Manuel Piñero’s own playing characteristics in that it rewards accuracy rather than long hitting. A variety of hazards come into play from elevated tees with trees, water, sand and streams to negotiate before approaching a good proportion of raised greens. Not too difficult to walk.
